It is a difficult choice for anyone and I appreciated both of the presented views, although it seems unfortunate that anonymity is still seen as needed for those with a “pro” position. I suspect that euthanasia has always been quietly – and in my view compassionately – administered by frontline caregivers in response to a person’s request to end their “needless suffering”. Is there any discussion on the values regarding limits and ethics of extending life? Perhaps that could inform the current discussion on ending life.
