Her courage, and trust in the face of the unknown reminds me that we are God’s instruments, and part of His plan of building the Kingdom of God. And so we need to be like St Mary and say “yes” to His Will, and His Call, wherever we are in our lives.
It takes courage, and it takes faith but I look to St Mary, and I pray that when God calls, I can say, as St Mary said to God, “behold the handmaid of the Lord, be it unto me according to thy word.”

She started the Catholic Workers Movement and worked for the homeless and the causes of non-violence. She’s not a saint yet, and she probably would never want to be one. But she is in the beginnings of the canonization process. As she said, “I really only love God as much as I love the person I love the least.”
