The quote at the beginning really hits a note with me. I truly believe we must grieve in order to adjust to losses especially the loss of a loved one. So many people are electing to have no wake, no funeral, no “celebration “ of life. I believe all my friends and family are so important to me that I want to be allowed to grieve. I want to pray, sing hymns, eat and drink with those that want to join me and help each of us build each other up enough so the we can move on and live the rest of our lives in a healthy mental and spiritual state. I find that those who choose to slip away without supporting those still living by allowing formal grieving processes are somewhat selfish, they are robbing us of the gift of celebrating the joy and meaning they had in our lives.
