Lenten & Easter Services:

All Saints
Wednesday, April 13 at 7 p.m. – Music and Prayer on the Seven Last WordsA joint presentation by All Saints and st bens of a video recording by the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra of a powerful work for cello, button accordion and orchestra expressing the seven last words of Christ.  It is interspersed with prayer\poetry written and delivered by Yuri Hooker, Pastor and Principal Cellist of the WSO.Good Friday:
9:30 a.m. – Children’s Service
This unique 45-minute service is designed for children but suitable for all ages. Adults must wear masks, and children if they are able.12:00-3:00 p.m. – Membra Jesu Nostri: Music and Readings for Good FridayAfter a two year hiatus, our traditional Good Friday service is back with the choir singing the beautiful Membra Jesu Nostri written for Good Friday in 1680 by Dieterich Buxtehude, accompanied by an instrumental ensemble. This meditative service is based on the seven last words on Christ, and the music is interspersed with scripture readings, reflections, hymns, and time for silent meditation.Easter Sunday:
9 a.m. – Spoken Eucharist in the chapel11 a.m. – Sung Eucharist: in addition to rejoicing in the resurrection of Christ we will celebrate a baptism and two confirmations.

saint benedict’s table Lenten Series
For this year’s Lenten series, we’ll be offering something on each Wednesday evening of the season. That begins on March 2 with our 7 p.m. Ash Wednesday liturgy, and then on March 9, 16, 23, 30, and April 6, we will be holding a liturgy of Compline (from the Book of Common Prayer), with a special musical accompaniment from different musicians from our community.

The line-up of musicians for the season is as follows:

St. Aidan’s Dawn Easter Service
Join St. Aidan’s Church and others on Easter Sunday Morning (April 17) at 6.15 a.m. for a Dawn service of Communion and praise in Assiniboine Park. The service begins before dawn, so that the sunrise can be part of the worship. A fire will be lit and after the celebration, Hot Cross buns will be available to toast; bring your own hot drinks. You will find us at Pitch 5 (see a link to map below). Car parking on site. All are welcome.
