May 2021 Magazine

For May, we’re looking at the importance of ritual in the midst of upheaval, and ritual as a form of spiritual care. This issue features contributions from four spiritual care workers, along with a couple of reports from the Archives Committee.

Chris Salstrom writes about a spontaneous ritual that sprang up out of a coronavirus outbreak in her care unit. Joan Crabtree speaks of compassion fatigue and the necessity for self-compassion. Later on, Helen Holbrook offers us some ideas for creating rituals at home, and Paul Peters Derry serves up a dish of his own PPE – no, not a bowl of disposable face masks, but Paul’s Pandemic Egg-bake!
