March 5, 2021 – Bishop’s COVID Update

Corporations and vestries

Dear Colleagues,
Greetings in this season of yearning and prayer.
Public Health regulations in the Province of Manitoba have been amended to permit in-person worship ceremonies at a level of 25% of principal worship space capacity, or 100 people, whichever is less, (it is my interpretation that the provincial order refers to gatherings for worship only; should my understanding change I will provide further direction). We are gradually lifting the suspension of in-person worship consistent with your local public health orders.
All precautions are still in effect,
  • masks at all times,
  • 2M physical distancing, family bubbles may continue to cluster
  • hand sanitizing
  • keeping a log of worship participants and their contact information remain.
  • Cleaning protocols continue for the worship space and entrances before and after worship

Singing while masked is permitted.
Parishes that are confident in providing a safe and risk-reduced environment may consider in-person worship ceremonies.

Faithful and careful adherence to prayer, public health protocols, and Diocese of Rupert’s Land directives regarding cleanliness and worship practices through the pandemic are key to reducing risk, promoting health for all, and bringing us physically closer to one another.

In Christ,

+ Geoffrey Woodcroft
